What counts as a country?
The default pool is explicit: 193 UN members plus the two UN observer states, Holy See and State of Palestine. Switch to UN members only or to 249 ISO countries and areas when the task requires a different convention.
Draw without repeats
Every multi-country batch is unique. The session deck can also remove each result from later draws, show the exact number left and restore the previous state with Undo.
Replay a seeded session
Reproducible mode turns a short seed, the selected pool and versioned algorithms into a stable order. It is useful when a class or group must receive the same exercise; it is not cryptographically unpredictable.
Copy and export usable results
Copy one name, a newline list or a TSV table. Download UTF-8 CSV or versioned JSON containing stable identifiers, ISO codes, M49 codes and the dataset version.
Private by design
Country data is bundled with the page and generation requires no network request. History stays in memory unless you explicitly enable local storage. Share state is stored after the # in the URL, outside the HTTP request.
Useful limits
This tool supports classes, quizzes, workshops, writing prompts and informal choices. It is not designed for lotteries, betting, regulated assignments, travel safety or visa advice.
